Ed Sheeran has kicked off his world tour in Australia while ringing in his 32nd birthday with close pals – including an Aussie A-lister.
The British singer was pictured celebrating with Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth and friend Paul Barrie O’Brien backstage with beers prior to kicking off the show at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
O’Brien shared a picture to Instagram of the trio, captioning it: “Showtime. Couple of pre-show settlers. Happy birthday @teddysphotos.”
Sheeran’s + – = ÷ x Tour – aka The Mathematics Tour – will continue in Brisbane tonight and tomorrow before moving on to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and then Perth.
Aussie singer Budjerah Slabb is supporting the pop performer for the entire leg of his tour Down Under, along with rising British star Maisie Peters.
Earlier this month, the 19-year-old opened up about the “crazy” moment he was asked to collaborate with Sheeran on the track that went on to become his hit 2Step, which has attracted almost 10 million streams.
“I just got a phone call one day from my manager and they said, ‘Do you want to write a verse for an Ed Sheeran song?’” Slabb told The Courier Mail.
“I was like, ‘What? That’s pretty crazy’.”
