Delta Goodrem has shared her latest health battle with fans ahead of her eagerly awaited UK and European tour.

Delta Goodrem has been forced to cancel her upcoming tour of the UK and Europe after losing her voice.

The Born To Try pop star told fans via a social media post she had “overextended” herself and damaged her vocal cords and would be unable to go ahead with her 15 Hearts On The Run concerts due to kick off in Dublin on April 4.

Goodrem had been excitedly posted about venue upgrades to the tour to meet demand and a two-week countdown only last weekend.

But her doctors this week ordered vocal rest to repair her voice.

“It hurts my heart to have to share with you that we’ve had to make the difficult decision to reschedule my upcoming UK & European shows,” she wrote.

“I am feeling so grateful to be this busy in this moment of my career, but from overextending myself on a number of projects, including preparing new music for you all, I, unfortunately, overused my vocal cords to the point of me having no voice for extended periods of time.

“I have been pushing through this month believing my voice would heal, but as I sit here typing from rehearsals with a ready show, my doctors have just ordered me to go on strict vocal rest and not sing.

“I am so excited to have an incredible year of touring ahead. Nothing makes me happier than being on a stage and performing for you in full flight. Be Right Back. Love you all.”

Goodrem has had a hectic start to 2023, filming Love Is In The Air at the Whitsundays and paying tribute to her late mentor and friend Olivia Newton-John with her beautiful performances at G’Day USA in January and the Melbourne memorial last month.

She has also been in the studio writing and recording songs for her next album and preparing for the 20th anniversary reissue of her debut album Innocent Eyes and Australian tour in September.

Goodrem shocked fans ahead of the release of her 2020 single Paralysed when she revealed she lost her ability to speak and sing due to complications from surgery to remove a salivary gland in 2018.

She underwent intensive daily vocal therapy to regain her speech and be able to sing again and shared videos of her emotional struggles to reclaim her voice.

“I’m super embarrassed, I’m just over it,” Goodrem said in one clip. “I’m trying to stay positive. It gets really tiring trying to get your brain to talk to your tongue. My livelihood is my sound.”

In her post breaking the bad news about her upcoming European tour, Goodrem told fans to hang onto their tickets as her team are “working on rescheduling these shows as soon as possible”.
