ORIGINAL Jurassic Park star Ariana Richards looked all grown up at the premiere for the latest film in the blockbuster franchise this week.

Richards, now 38, played Lex Murphy in the 1993 smash hit, battling raptors and a T-Rex on screen when she was just 12 years old.

Now married with a daughter, Richards has largely given up acting and is a successful artist nowadays. She had a brief appearance in the 1997 Jurassic Park sequel The Lost World, and her last on-screen role was in the 2013 TV movie Battledogs.

Her former co-star Joseph Mazzello, who played her younger brother Tim in Jurassic Park, was not at the premiere. Now 34, he’s enjoyed an acting career into adulthood, most notably in the 2010 hit The Social Network and in the upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

The release of this fifth film in the Jurassic Park franchise marks 25 years since the original movie hit screens — the iconic movie was directed by Steven Spielberg, won three Academy Awards and was the highest grossing film of all time until Titanic stole the crown in 1997.

To mark the occasion, we dug up some little-known facts about the blockbuster — including the A-lister who turned down the lead role of Dr. Alan Grant that eventually went to Sam Neil.
