JENNIFER Aniston is not afraid to admit some of her movies sucked.
The 47-year-old told Harper’s Bazaar she became such a workaholic that she didn’t stop to actually consider whether the films were any good or not.
“There was a time when I worked and worked and worked. I loved it,” she said.
But she’s now learning that she doesn’t need to say yes to every opportunity.
“I’m trying to be better at that,” Aniston says. “I’m a bit of a people pleaser. I’ve got to stop. Some of the movies I’ve made, I bow my head in slight shame over.”
Aniston, who is married to husband Justin Theroux says she will only accept projects that make it worth being away from home.
“I really have to love something to be leaving my home, my dogs, my husband. The older you get, the more you realise that.”
The actress who next stars in Mother’s Day alongside Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson and Courteney Cox, says she has started working less and taking care of herself more.
She works out five days a week and avoids sugar (her vices are margaritas and guacamole), she mostly eats “a salad with protein” or a chicken burger wrapped in lettuce for lunch.
She thinks age has served her well.
“I feel better in my 40s. Not only do you feel better in your body physically, but you’re mentally better. Because, say, in your 20s, you didn’t know s--t. For me, in my 30s I was just trying to figure it all out. Then when you hit 40, you’re like, ‘Oh, okay. I got this.’”
Herr workouts involve four 15 minute circuits of the elliptical trainer, cycling, running and portions of the Body by Simone DVD for floor workout.
“It’s so freakin’ hard, it’s unbelievable,” she says.
