“No, I love my job and I love Wolverine,” Jackman said in an interview for HBO’s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace when asked about steroid use.

“I got to be careful what I say here, but I had been told anecdotally what the side effects are of that. And I was like, ‘I don’t love it that much’.”

As Jackman prepares to reprise the role of Wolverine in the next Deadpool movie, Wallace said “people have wondered” over the years whether he “juiced” on steroids.

Jackman and fellow Aussie Marvel star Chris Hemsworth have been called out by podcaster, and hormone replacement therapy advocate, Joe Rogan recently for allegedly taking steroids.

“I am 100% confident that guy did steroids, look at his body, Hugh Jackman got f---ing jacked and he’s 40 years old,” Rogan said more than a decade ago.

Rogan recently mentioned Jackman again alongside Hemsworth, and The Rock for their eye-popping body transformations.

“No, I just did it the old school way,” Jackman said on HBO. “And I tell you, I’ve eaten more chickens — I’m so sorry to all the vegans and vegetarians and to the chickens of the world. Literally the karma is not good for me. If the deity has anything related to chickens, I’m in trouble.”

Since debuting as Wolverine in 2000s X-Men, Jackman’ has transformed his body with each subsequent film in the franchise. The star of Broadway’s The Music Man was seen carb-loading before the gruelling training schedule begins for Deadpool 3.

“I’ve learned you can’t rush it,” he told Wallace.

“I’ve learned that it takes time. So, we have six months from when I finish [Broadway’s The Music Man] to when I start filming, and I’m not doing any other work. I’m going to be with my family and train. That’s going to be my job for six months.”

“And I’m really fit right now. There’s one thing that about eight shows a week being on Broadway singing and dancing, is I’m fit. So, I’m healthy. I have a good place to start.”

“And apologies, chickens. Run a mile. Start running now because I’m coming for you.”
