Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were seen playfully shushing young royals at the start of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The Californian couple, who famously quit royal life back in January 2020, returned to the UK for their first joint public appearance at a royal event since moving to the United States.
Both Meghan, 40, and Harry, 37, watched the Trooping the Colour from a side room with a view of the parade ground, after arriving in a car with blacked out windows.
The Duchess of Sussex was seen putting her finger to her mouth, telling the Queen’s great-granddaughters Savannah Phillips, 11, Isla Phillips, 10, Mia Tindall, 8 and Lena Tindall, 3, to keep quiet in charming photographs.
Prince Harry was soon pictured making the exact same gesture.
He was later spotted chatting with Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, who had earlier stood by the Queen’s side on the Buckingham Palace balcony during part of the parade.
The Duke of Sussex looked relaxed and at home as he visited the UK for the first time with Meghan since they quit royal duties.
The couple were not able to join other family memebrs alongside The Queen on Buckingham Palace’s balcony because they are no longer working royals.
There had been some concerns that Prince Harry and Meghan would bring a Netflix crew along with them to the major event.
But it ran smoothly, with Meghan dressed in navy, with a wide-brimmed hat with navy trim.
Her outfit echoed the navy Givenchy dress she wore to Trooping the Colour in 2019, before Megxit.
As well as attending events for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also expected to celebrate their daughter Lilibet’s first birthday on Saturday with the monarch.
The visit will mark the first time the monarch has been able to meet her great-granddaughter Lilibet.
They are also expected to attend the church service at St Paul’s Cathedral.
