Liam Neeson has made himself at home in rustic Gippsland town Walhalla for the filming of his new movie, Ice Road 2: Road To The Sky.
A series of exclusive photos show the famous old mining town transformed into a vibrant Nepalese village decked out in Nepalese writing and flags, with buildings, buses, a pergola and other monuments customised for the set.
The movie has a crew of 200.
The second instalment follows Mike McCann (Neeson) who travels to Nepal and encounters a group of mercenaries while travelling on a tour bus.
The original film, The Ice Road, had major success with Neeson being nominated for Best Actor in an Action Movie for the 2022 CriticsChoice Super Awards.
Filming began on January 8 and is scheduled to conclude by the end of the month.
Old Walhalla Fire Station Museum employee and ghost tour guide Sally May said the film will give the town great exposure.
"It will put Walhalla on the world stage," Ms May said.
"It's very exciting and it's going to do wonders for Walhalla's future.
"More people will be aware of it, therefore more people will visit and it will be great for our economy and for all of our businesses.
"It's going to be an important time."
