Lanes reopened on Harbour Bridge after filming for Ryan Gosling blockbuster

Traffic is flowing again on the Harbour Bridge after it was closed for several hours for filming on a Hollywood star’s new project.

Sydney Harbour Bridge closed for filming

The Sydney Harbour Bridge has reopened to motorists and pedestrians after it became a movie set for a new Hollywood blockbuster on Sunday morning.

Crews took to the iconic bridge to film a scene from the upcoming blockbuster movie The Fall Guy, which is slated to hit cinemas next year.

The adaptation of a 1980s TV show boasts a star-studded cast including Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, and Hannah Waddingham.

Gosling, who arrived in Sydney for filming last September, was on site at the iconic Harbour Bridge as he appeared to work with his stunt double on a series of action shots.

The Hollywood star was seen in the same ensemble when filming for the new project at the Rocks in October.

The Sydney Harbour Tunnel remained open during filming on Sunday and trains continued to travel over the bridge.

Sunday’s filming schedule also resulted in the closure of the walkway along the Cahill Expressway, which is due to be reopened in the early afternoon.

Transport for NSW acting deputy secretary Howard Collins urged motorists on Saturday to consider alternate routs including Victoria Rd and the Galdesville Bridge during the closures.

“It is great to see our iconic infrastructure on the global stage, but we do urge motorists to avoid the area or postpone travel until after 10am if possible,” Mr Collins said.

Martin Place, Elizabeth St, and Circular Quay have all been used as sets over the past few months so Sydneysiders are set to view plenty of exciting footage of their city when the film is released in March 2024.
