Controversial shock jock Kyle Sandilands isn’t holding back ahead of his Melbourne assault.
Responding to Steve Price calling him a “grubby buffoon” and his prediction that a Victorian audience won’t connect with his style, Sandilands said he couldn’t care less.
“You’re all demented,’’ he said on his Sydney KIIS FM breakfast show on Thursday.
“Who cares if Melbourne doesn’t like us? We still get paid.”
Sandilands went on to call Price a “gronk” and a “piece of sh*t” and said “feel free to play this on tonight’s Project”.
Sandilands also had a crack at Brendan Fevola, who claimed they wouldn’t work here.
“Melbourne don’t like all that carry on remember,’’ Sandilands said.
“According to Brendan Fevola Melbourne don’t like anal sex and they don’t like talking about dicks. But he seems to have done ok down there, doesn’t make any sense.”
Sandilands has had a love-hate relationship with Melbourne over the years.
He’s criticised Molly Meldrum, Magda Szubanski and Dave Hughes, and once called a TV reviewer a fat slag.
He and partner in crime Jackie O will be heard on Melbourne airwaves from next year after signing a new mega multimillion-dollar deal.
He also didn’t need to leak intel about his planned invasion into breakfast radio in Melbourne.
Sandilands dropped the bomb himself in a no-holds-barred Herald Sun interview in February.
Then, he said he was “gunning” to bring his top-rating Sydney show south of the border, and his only regret would be taking the KIIS FM slot from his good friend Jase Hawkins.
“Why would you have the biggest radio show of all time – ever – but only do it in Sydney?” Sandilands said in February.
“My bosses say people love it local, but they’ve got no f**ing idea. That is such a 1970s mentality.
“If I was in charge, I’d put the biggest product they’ve got on air nationally.”
Sandilands rejected notions his show is “too Sydney” for Melbourne audiences and said their digital radio and podcast numbers were strong in Victoria.
“No one really cares where you are — it’s an archaic way of thinking,” Sandilands said.
“I don’t get upset (Channel 10 news show) The Project is filmed in Melbourne. You like what you like. It doesn’t matter where it comes from.”
He added: “We don’t talk about anything happening in Sydney on our show. We talk about f**king, arguments, (intimacy with) your boyfriend, and your favourite TV shows. We don’t say a word about the Sydney ferries running on time.”
On Wednesday, Sandilands went from “gunning” for Melbourne to pulling the trigger. He and Henderson signed a 10 year deal worth $200m to take their radio show to a national audience.
Meanwhile, FOX FM breakfast radio co-host Brendan Fevola said he’s not worried by Kyle and Jackie O’s move to Melbourne.
Fevola reported the Sandilands plan in August, which was labelled a “grub move” by Hawkins.
“I did (say it) and I was on the money,’’ Fevola said on Wednesday, adding: “We’ve got the most listeners in Melbourne so I don’t feel that’s going to affect us at all.”
