Jodi Grollo, who shot to fame as “Karen from Brighton” has taken a dig at Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews on his 50th birthday.
Grollo, who became a social media sensation after complaining about walking the same streets of Brighton, posted a video on social media saying she couldn’t bring herself to send well wishes.
“So I hear it’s Dan’s 50th birthday and I should probably bury the hatchet and pass along some birthday wishes,’’ she said.
“I don’t know about you but I just can’t seem to get past 262 days in lockdown and the loss of so many lives and small businesses.... so maybe not.”
In October 2020 Grollo quit Victoria in her ongoing protests against Premier Andrews’ COVID-19 lockdown laws.
She did the mandatory two week stay in a Northern Territory quarantine facility.
The well-heeled baysider has returned to Melbourne after going viral for her declaration on Channel 9 news that she had “done all of Brighton”.
The daughter of billionaire pokies baron Bruce Mathieson, she has voiced her “Dan-demic” and “anti-Andrews” views on social media and has been taunting the Premier ever since.
“Anastasia isn’t that much better than Dan, but the weather is great & life is pretty much normal up there,’ she wrote on social media in 2020 in reference to Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
“Such a shame because I really love Melbourne.”
She added: “Dan & his cronies have done my head in. I have to go for my mental health.”
