A six-month overseas holiday is top priority for Jesinta Campbell when her AFL star hubby ‘Buddy’ retires, with the model already looking at the next step in both their careers.

Whatever happens with Lance “Buddy” Franklin’s Sydney Swans contract negotiations, his wife is looking forward to more family time.

Franklin, 35, is in the midst of complex contract negotiations with the top AFL club, which could see the star player leave the team at the end of this year.

“When he does retire, whenever that is, we would love to go overseas for six months and just live life without the work commitments and without the stresses and worries that come with living life in the spotlight,” Jesinta Franklin told The Daily Telegraph.

“For us it is going to be so nice to have a big break and just spend quality time with the kids and not have to worry about anything.”

Of her husband’s future with the Swans, she said: “Speculation and rumour was always going to circle Bud as he came towards the end of his nine-year deal, and I think that is what it is at the moment. Sydney is home for us right now and we really enjoy living here.”

The Franklins are parents to two young children — Tallulah and Rocky.

On Thursday night, model and TV presenter Jesinta was special guest at The Eveleigh to celebrate Bastille Day with beauty brand Lancome and to launch the My Lancome Rewards program. The 30-year-old is also looking at her future.

“I think it would be crazy for me to think that I could do this forever and the same with Bud and his football,” she said.

There is definitely a lot more longevity in the modelling world now, with brands embracing age diversity and body diversity and all of that, but I also have to think about expanding my business and focus on growing my company.

“How that will look in the next 12 months or two years, I don’t know.

“You have to think about the long run.

“I always looked up to people like Elle Macpherson when I started, she just understood the business of it and I admire and respect that.”
