‘It did not happen, but that’s not the point’: Woman in alleged toilet tryst hits out at those sharing video

A former footy star and a woman who were filmed leaving Toorak Cellars’ toilets about 20 seconds apart have slammed “cyber bullies” after the footage went viral.

A famous footy identity and a woman at the centre of an alleged toilet tryst at a swanky Melbourne wine bar have accused those circulating a viral video of cyber-bullying.

At popular Armadale venue Toorak Cellars on Friday, the pair was filmed leaving the bathrooms about 20 seconds apart, with the women behind the phone gossiping that “she looks embarrassed,” and wondering, “what’s he doing in there?”

It was posted on Saturday night to an Instagram account with more than 40,000 followers and was rocketing around WhatsApp group chats on Sunday.

On Sunday afternoon, the woman hit back, posting to her followers on a private account to say to those who were filming: “Shame on you women, we are better than that.”

“It did not happen, but that’s not the point. It’s time this narrative changed,” she added, before deactivating the social media account.

It’s believed the high-profile man and the woman, who both looked wobbly on their feet in the video, are unknown to each other and had no idea they were being filmed.

Another patron was also seen leaving the area at the time.

The former AFL star and media identity, speaking anonymously to the Herald Sun on Sunday, said: “I unequivocally condemn this act of cyber-bullying and harassment.

“It is reprehensible and deeply concerning that individuals, often anonymous, can orchestrate and spread false narratives with virality, solely to slut-shame and target women.

“This insidious behaviour not only perpetuates dangerous stereotypes but also fundamentally erodes personal dignity and human decency. Those responsible must be held fully accountable for their actions.”
