After a lauded turn as host last year, Sam Pang has been locked in to front the Logie Awards in August.
The Front Bar and Have You Been Paying Attention star will be at the helm of Australian TV’s night of nights at The Star in Sydney on Sunday, August 18.
After 11 years of the Logies running without a stand alone host, Pang was a breath of fresh air last year with cleverly written material and his trademark cheek keeping both the audience in the room at The Star and viewers at home entertained.
His efforts earned well deserved widespread praise from viewers and the TV industry.
“Hosting the Logies last year was an amazing experience and I’m thrilled to return in 2024,” Pang said.
“Adding to the excitement Seven have also given me the green light to try new things this year so I’m really looking forward to displaying my under appreciated and severely undeveloped song and dance skills.”
The 64th TV Week Logie Awards will be broadcast on Channel 7.
Jeff Howard, chief executive officer of Seven West Media, said: “Sam Pang brought unabashed showbiz back to the Logies last year. We are delighted Sam is returning in August to host this year’s celebration of everything television.”
Changes have been made to the Logie award categories and the judging process.
Three awards will continue to be presented as ‘Most Popular’, while the remaining 20 awards will be named ‘Best’, combining the previous ‘Most Popular’ and ‘Most Outstanding’ categories.
Nominations for this year’s TV Week Logie Awards will be announced on June 23.
