Former Hawks star Josh Gibson is celebrating again in September, this time marking the arrival of his first child.
Gibson and partner Ashley Bright welcomed their son, Brody, on Monday.
“September has been very good to me over the years,’’ Gibson wrote on Instagram.
“On the 6/9/21 at 2.58pm Brody Des Gibson was born and changed our world forever. (Ashley Bright) you’ve given us the greatest gift of all & words can’t describe how much I love you. If Brody being born on the 6th isn’t a sign, I don’t know what is! #dadlife #family.”
Gibson, who wore the no. 6, won three premierships with the Hawks.
Bright, who gave birth in Ballarat, also shared her joy: “The purest love I’ve ever known.”
Also announcing the birth of their first child on Wednesday were cricketer Aaron Finch and his wife Amy.
They welcomed daughter Esther on Tuesday.
“Our little princess arrived yesterday at 4.58pm weighing 3.54kg. (Amy Finch) did an amazing job and both her and bub are very healthy!’’ Finch wrote on Instagram.
Amy added: “To say we are besotted with her would be an understatement, welcome to our family little one!”
Gibson and Bright shared the news they were expecting in March with more footy references.
“Little Gibbo coming September 2021. Hawks fans will be very happy to know, that scans show a large left! #goldenfist,’’ Gibson wrote on Instagram.
Gibson, who was part of the cast of The Celebrity Apprentice, last year moved to a property in country Victoria.
The former socialite has five horses at his place between Daylesford and Ballarat.
“I was always back and forth for riding and then I just thought I’d prefer to live down here,’’ he told the Herald Sun.
“I love horse riding and my mum was from the country. It’s really easy, I enjoy country life.”
