Promoter Michael Gudinski is working flat out on an all-Australian musical line-up for the AFL Grand Final.

“There’s been a lot of speculation, but it looks like the date might be there,” Gudinski said.

“Whether there’s a crowd or not, I can guarantee you there’s going to be some kind of all-Australian entertainment. And if you think I haven’t got a whiteboard with a dream line-up to suggest to the AFL you’d be underestimating me. We’re planning it now.”

On going talk about a potential night grand final is music to the promoter’s ears.

A night show allows more lights and production for live acts, who don’t usually perform in daylight.

“I know the sport comes first, but I say bring on a twilight or a night grand final, it would open up a lot more artists to play at it,’’ Gudinski said.

“I know that’s not the priority of the AFL but it might be something that comes out of these circumstances and if it does, hopefully it stays.”

Gudinski is hard at work at finalising an album version of his Music From the Home Front concert, which will hit stores on June 19, with all profits going to music industry charity Support Act. A triple vinul set will follow six weeks later.

Gudinski has just been buoyed by Melbourne band The Teskey Brothers scoring their first ARIA No. 1 album.

Their record Live at the Forum is the first live album to reach No. 1 in Australia since AC/DC in 1999.

“It’s quite ironic a live album is No. 1 right now,” he said.

“It accentuates how people are missing live music. They’re a special band.”
