Former Hawthorn champion Jarryd Roughead and wife Sarah have welcomed a son, Will.

The couple who are parents to Pip, 2, both posted pictures of their newborn who arrived on July 28.

“Our beautiful boy, Will,’’ was Sarah’s simple caption, while Roughead wrote “Will Roughead” with blue love hearts.

Sarah told the Herald Sun in February the family was enjoying their life, post-footy.

Roughead, a four-time premiership hero, retired last year with 283 games and 578 goals over 15 seasons. He then joined the Saints coaching team.

“Jarryd’s been a new man, the pressure is off and we can enjoy this next chapter,’’ Sarah said.

Roughead’s tell-all autobiography, titled Roughy, is due to be released next week.

He reveals his brave battle against cancer that first presented in 2015, and the power of belief.
