Former Big Brother contestant Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald wouldn’t cope under rebooted rules

Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald says he wouldn’t have coped well with the drama on the rebooted Big Brother.
Fitzy came fourth in 2004 and in the show’s return on Channel 7 this year, the housemates vote to evict each other.
“We couldn’t talk about nominations back in our day so there’s a lot more strategy and game play,’’ he said.
“I would have stayed out of it, that’s not a big one for me. I don’t think I would have gone well. I like to stay away from drama so that’s not up my alley.
“My wife said to me that some of these people in the house would have been children when I was in the house so that freaked me out a bit.
“We’ve watched a few episodes, it’s slick, I don’t mind it.”
Fitzy was a housemate after AFL stints at Sydney and Adelaide. Another ex-footy player, Daniel Gorringe, is considered one of the favourites to win.
Nova host Fitzy will be in Melbourne tomorrow for an appearance on the Front Bar alongside Mick Molloy, Sam Pang and Andy Maher.
“I’ve missed it,’’ he said.
“The big thing for me is the lead up to a game on a weekend is always Front Bar.
“Going national and being live in Sydney now is awesome.
“It’s great to have a national vibe.
“I’m a Crows supporter and we got beaten by 70 odd points over the weekend so Front Bar is the only thing I’ve got to look forward to these days.”
