Why AFLW star Sabrina is taking on SAS Australia challenge
She’s comfortable clunking marks and kicking goals on the footy field, but Richmond AFLW powerhouse forward Sabrina Frederick is embarking on a new challenge, joining the cast of an intense new TV show.

AFLW star Sabrina Frederick says she wants to smash stereotypes and show herself as a “fearless woman” in Channel 7’ new reality series SAS Australia.
Frederick, 23, who is part of Richmond’s formidable AFLW team, says it was not just the physical, but mental, challenges that attracted her to the show which puts a diverse group of well-known Australians through tests similar to those experienced by SAS recruits.
“I’m here to break stereotypes,” Frederick said.
“I’m a proud, black woman. A fearless woman who’s here to be determined and make sure that people know that they can be just as good as men – if not better.
“I wanted to see if I could pass selection and see how far I could really push myself mentally and physically. My attitude towards obstacles is to give it a go and get through it. When there’s an obstacle in front of me, don’t tell me no, cause I’ll make it a yes.”
Frederick is a formidable athlete and she will put the AFLW in the spotlight with her strength and resilience on this show.
Frederick’s celebrity castmates include James Magnussen, Nick Cummins, Mitchell Johnston, Shayna Jack, Candice Warner, Roxy Jacenko Merrick Watts, Ali Oetjen, Eden Dally, Jackson Warne, Shannan Ponton, Ali Oetjen, and the controversial choices of Schapelle Corby and Arabella Del Busso.
The show launches next month.
