Ultra Tune boss Sean Buckley has been banned from Crown casino over allegations aired in the Supreme Court he violently attacked his girlfriend inside a suite at the Melbourne venue.

The Herald Sun understands Mr Buckley was informed of the ban by Crown management in recent days.

The business tycoon was last week granted an urgent injunction banning former partner Jennifer Cruz Cole from making public the contents of secret recordings she has of him.

Lawyer John Searle, for Mr Buckley, told the court the recordings were made without his client’s consent and any public release would put Mr Buckley’s reputation “in significant peril” and cause “extraordinary economic loss”.

Mr Buckley used a letter to franchisees to lash his bikini-model former girlfriend and an estranged business partner, accusing the pair of mounting a “campaign to destroy me”. He apologised for the impact the “false” claims were having on staff and said he was disclosing to them more than he would normally be comfortable discussing.

“Clearly I would prefer not to be talking about these private matters, but because false claims have been aired about me in public which bring up the name of our business it is incumbent upon me to provide you with more information,” the letter, dated February 5, reads.

He said a former employee was “out for revenge” after resigning over his “past”, which made it “impossible for me to continue his employment”.

He then writes that the man had joined forces with his ex-girlfriend after Mr Buckley ended their relationship.

The Supreme Court hearing was told by Ms Cole’s lawyer Zoe Davis the recordings were the subject of a criminal investigation. “My client was subject to a violent, violent attack in part of these recordings,” Ms Davis said.

A legal spokesperson for Mr Buckley said he was seeking clarification from Crown on his ban, claiming no reason had yet been provided.

“Mr Buckley was surprised and bemused by Crown’s notice,” the spokesperson said.

“Prior to moving to Queensland Mr Buckley had stayed at Crown for over 12 months without any issue.”

The injunction case returns to court on February 15.
