Well-heeled society figures Nick and Camilla Speer have a good eye for luxury property, selling their Portsea cliff top mansion for about $25 million after paying $13.48m for it four years ago.
The prestige property, known as Rovina, has, according to a report in the Financial Review, been purchased by Toorak-based philanthropist, Dr Sophie Oh.
The buy adds to Ms Oh’s portfolio of homes. She and her husband Grant Rule forked out $74.5 million for Toorak’s ‘Blair House’ in 2022.
Rovina is described as one of Portsea’s most classical cliff top residences and overlooks Portsea pier and Weeroona Bay. It naturally has a boatshed.
The five bedroom property has a Mediterranean villa influence and is set around a central pool.
The Mornington Peninsula, particularly Portsea, is Melbourne’s holiday home hot spot for rich listers, with the likes of Lindsay Fox owning significant property on the coast.
The decision by the Speers to offload their Portsea pile comes after they sold their previous Toorak home on St Georges Road in 2023 for $14.5 million.
Camilla is part of the Deague family, noted Melbourne property developers.
