Melbourne businessman Greg O’Shea has taken action in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court claiming Nixon owed him money for five corporate hospitality packages for the 2023 grand final.

On or around September 25, 2023, Nixon and O’Shea made an agreement where Nixon would sell tickets to the AFL grand final that O’Shea owned and receive a commission.

The arrangement was managed by an employee of O’Shea’s, it is claimed in court documents seen by the Sunday Herald Sun.

It is claimed the tickets were sold for an alleged amount of $40,000, but neither O’Shea nor his employee received any money from Nixon for them.

A complaint was filed with the civil division of the Magistrates Court in October.

On March 4 a default judgement was made against Nixon, who was not present in court, directing him to pay the outstanding amount along with interest of $1389.95 and costs of $2007.20.

Nixon was reportedly served with a bankruptcy notice on March 15 over the allegedly owed money.

An angry Nixon refuted the claims on Saturday saying he did not know anything about the case and did not owe any money.

“I don’t know anything about it other than I received a notification and I gave it to my lawyer and I don’t know anything about it,” he said.

He said he had not been served with a bankruptcy notice.

“I have not received anything about this other than I know who Greg O’Shea is,” he said.
