NFL legend Tom Brady has been welcomed into a new club.
After heaping praise on AFL players at his In Conversation at Crown on Saturday, Brady was welcomed into the inner sanctum at Carlton that evening after his second Crown show.
Brady was presented with a Carlton jumper by club president Luke Sayers, general manager of football Brad Lloyd, coach Michael Voss, assistant coach Ash Hansen and premiership player and board member Greg Williams.
The forging of a relationship with Brady gives Carlton its second global ambassador in a matter of months.
Superstar performer Robbie Williams was welcomed into the club in November during his Australian tour.
Brady had already identified Michael Voss as having pretty handy ball skills prior to the jumper presentation.
Voss had been at Brady’s Saturday evening In Conversation and was selected to catch a touch down throw from the NFL GOAT.
Taking off his jacket and doing a quick limber up, Brady did a touch down throw to Michael Voss in the Palladium ballroom.
Brady, who arrived in Australia on Saturday morning from Miami, will appear in Brisbane today (Sunday) before jetting back to the US.
His message for success was to work harder than your opponents and to be the best version of yourself.
“There are people who think there is a better way of life than less work, less accountability, less work ethic, more excuses — the fundamentals of our life and achievement are always going to be the same from now until the end of time,’’ he said.
“How hard did you work? How disciplined were you to make the right choices? What were you like as a teammate? Who do you surround yourself with?’’
