Former Home And Away star Bec Hewitt has passed her love of performing on to her youngest daughter, with Ava Hewitt embarking on a TV career.
Hewitt, 12, whose dad is Australian tennis great Lleyton Hewitt, is following in her mum’s footsteps and finding success in front of the camera.
But, before anyone falls back on the lazy “nepo baby” cliche, forget it.
Hewitt has been a part of the Nick News team, seen on the Nickelodeon channel, for the past year and has never traded off her famous family links.
The team is made up of students from Village Nation Performing Arts in Sydney.
Hewitt is part of a panel of presenters on the show and often does reviews of toys.
Nick News is nominated for Aussie/Kiwi Legend of the Year in the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards on Wednesday, March 8. The show is up against other nominees Budjerah, Georgie Stone, Lydia Ko, Robert Irwin and Savannah Clarke.
The Hewitts have three children.
Their eldest daughter Mia is interested in fashion while their son Cruz is showing great talent as a tennis player.
He has an excellent mentor in his dad, who reached a career-high ranking of number 1 in the world and won Wimbledon.
