Danielle Laidley has caught the eye of casting gurus looking for the celebrities with ‘turn on’ factor for viewers of reality TV shows.

Stars with life experience and compelling personal journeys are highly prized by Australia’s plethora of reality TV titles and Laidley would be now sitting on most casting wish lists.

An insider familiar with reality show casting said on Saturday Laidley’s team could expect inquiries.

“There is no doubt Danielle Laidley would be an incredible signing for any show. She is the story of the moment and her story will continue to grow and resonate. A reality show could give her a great platform to share her message of acceptance to the wider community,” the insider said.

Whether reality TV is something Danielle, who appeared in her first fashion shoot for the Herald Sun’s VWeekend on Saturday, is interested in remains to be seen.

Shows such as I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! and Big Brother VIP, which give opportunities for contestants to recount personal experiences with other cast, would surely be reaching out to Laidley.

Dancing With The Stars is another reality show that has championed contestants who have overcome personal challenges or been headline makers.

Laidley has become one of Melbourne’s most talked about and intriguing individuals as she proudly owns and shares her story of her “rollercoaster” journey to her new life as a woman.

She told VWeekend she wanted to be a champion for change and help others facing sexual identity and mental health issues.

“I want to raise awareness of transgender people to live life without barriers,” she said.

“It’s very important to me, and not just the transgender person themselves, but also their families for the support and counsel required to adapt to change.”
