Nutritionist Alex Pendlebury is ready to fly the Magpies’ flag as her husband, Collingwood star Scott, returns to his football passion.
The Magpie champion has been isolating with Alex and their children, Jax, 3, and Darcy, six months, during the COVID-19 crisis with the family embracing the time together.
“I am happy for him that footy is coming back and for a bit of normality to return for everyone,” Alex said, noting that their garage can perhaps now return to housing cars rather than her husband’s makeshift gym.
“Nothing was going to stop him working out. Every few days another piece of equipment would appear.
“It (footy) is his passion and I can see he is definitely happy being back around the team, even though there are a lot of restrictions still in place. Although you wouldn’t wish this (covid slowdown) on anyone, the silver lining would definitely be the family time we have had together, waking up together as a family and doing everything together each day for two months.”
Alex is working with myDNA, a personalised genomics company, to encourage people to boost their immune system with a healthy diet and exercise plan.
“It is a simple cheek swab and from that myDNA can give you information about your diet and lifestyle and some recommendations for that will best suit your body for workouts and nutrition,” Alex said.
“It is a good way to find out what your body needs and they have some great works available.”
