“I don’t know what it means,” he said of his Oscar nomination at the AACTA awards where he was a nominee for Best Actor in a Film and also a presenter.

“It is a complex feeling. It is exciting, but also it is hard to know what I really think about it, to be honest. I am happy to be part of a film that is really great.

“It isn’t just the Oscar nomination, because we (The Brutalist film and cast) were nominated for Golden Globes and critic’s awards and all sort of things. We have been going for a few months now, since Venice (Film Festival in August last year) really. Just being part of The Brutalist steam train has been wonderful.”
