Former Kangaroo great Wayne Careyis preparing to make his stage debut — as a stripper.
In what can only be described as a surprising turn of events the sometimes polarising footy great and Channel 7 AFL commentator is understood to be among the well-known names getting their gear off in public for the new season of The All New Monty.
It is believed that joining Carey in the televised show of tasteful public nudity will be Australia’s grooviest granny, Patti Newton.
Newton is a spritely 74 and will be part of a burlesque performance created for the female celebrities by Todd McKenney.
The pair will make an entertaining, but undeniably odd, couple.
Gold Logie winner Samuel Johnson, Home And Away’s Sam Frost and builder Adam Dovile are confirmed for the show.
Cricket commentator Michael Slater, Home And Away’s Orpheus Pledger and radio host Ash Pollard are also tipped to be involved.
Filming is currently under way in New South Wales.
After rating strongly this year, Seven is expected to run The All New Monty over three nights in 2020 rather than as a one night only special.
The 2020 version of the show will see both men and women taking part. The show raises awareness for mens and womens health issues.
Seven is yet to confirm the line up stars involved in the new season of the show.
