Former Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting is seeking up to $16 million for his showpiece Brighton home.
The home has hit the market after Ponting and his wife Rianna dropped $20.7 million on an elegant Toorak mansion in March.
The seven-bedroom home known as “Shandford” is located in one of Brighton’s premier cashed-up enclaves and the marketing video that is promoting the trophy home does not hide who is it’s famous current owner.
As the video takes property lovers on a sweep through the grand home, a large wall hanging reading ‘Ponting 242 Adelaide Oval’ looms over a lounge room.
Footage of Ponting with cricket teammates is playing on the big screen in the private theatrette.
A framed picture of Ponting from his playing days can be seen in the study as can a ‘baggy green’ cap.
Various other framed cricket caps, a cricket ball, trophies and another ‘baggy green’ which had been mounted on a plaque with Ponting’s name on it can also be seen.
When describing the backyard, the voice over states the “floodlit tennis court (is) perfect not only for tennis and basketball, but also a spot of backyard cricket which has been quite popular with its current owners”.
Ponting bought Shandford in 2013 for $9.2 million.
The home is being sold via Forbes Global with a price estimate of between $14.8 million and $16 million.
