Canny talent manager Ralph Carr timed the sale of his luxury Hawthorn adobe perfectly, cashing out of the stately home with a sale price just shy of $10 million pre-COVID.
Carr, who has over the years proved to have extremely good taste in property, sold the five bedroom, four bathroom mansion in Shakespeare Grove, one of Hawthorn’s most exclusive pockets, in October after it was on the market for more than 200 days.
While the sale price was undisclosed at the time, it can now be revealed the home changed hands to a local buyer for $9.6 million.
The home was advertised for $10-$11 million in mid-2019 after originally being offered for sale with $12-$13.2 million as the price guide.
Carr, whose marquee client is Richmond superstar Dustin Martin, paid $7.55 million for the property in 2013 before making stylish improvements to it.
The sale came after Carr split with his wife Emma.
He is no doubt relieved to have made the impressive sale prior to the COVID-19 crisis hitting Victoria.
The Shakespeare Grove property is truly a trophy home with its stately billiards room, elegant dining room, arched reception hall, parquetry floors, exquisite leadlight windows, soaring ornate ceilings, pool, landscaped garden and city skyline views.
The billiard room was famously the location where Martin confirmed his lucrative contract to stay with Richmond to Sam Newman on Channel 9’s The Footy Show.
