Ace tennis commentator Jim Courier has emerged as the surprise new host of Australian Ninja Warrior.
Courier, the American former world No.1 male tennis player, who is in Melbourne working on the Australian Open broadcast, is extending his public profile in Australia with the prime time role.
“Like grand slam tennis, Australian Ninja Warrior is an amazing test of athleticism and tenacity,” he said. “I’ve always loved Ninja, so I’m thrilled to be on board to witness this year’s Ninjas test their physical and mental limits.”
Courier will be joined by co-host Leila McKinnon. Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw, better known as KIIS FM’s national drive team of Will and Woody, will be the show’s sideline reporters.
Ninja Warrior will be filmed in Sydney next month.
