A notorious Australian who spent time behind bars, as well as a former Olympic champion, are just some of the names in the mix for a reality TV start.

Cocaine Cassie gets raunchy for cash

Could Cocaine Cassie get the chance to show the real person behind the scandalous headlines on Channel 7’s tough as nails reality series SAS: Australia?

Cassie Sainsbury, aka Cocaine Cassie, is one of the names rumoured to have been approached to be part of the extreme celebrity boot camp which will film in Jordan in March.

While Seven is yet to confirm the names of any contestants, Sainsbury’s name has been in mix for the show since she appeared in an exclusive tell all on the network’s Spotlight program in September last year.

Sainsbury was a personal trainer at one point in her life. She is, however, best known for her stint in a Colombian prison.

She was found guilty of smuggling 5.8kg of cocaine out of Colombia inside 18 headphone boxes in April 2017. She was sentenced to six years imprisonment in Colombia, but was released from Bogota Prison in 2020.

Sainsbury, who hails from Adelaide, tied the knot with her wife Tatiana in March 2022.

These days she appears to split her time between Australia and Colombia.

Her social media posts show her in Australia working out in October 2022.

Sainsbury is not the only name to be rumoured to have been approached to do the show.

Olympic swimmer Stephanie Rice is understood to be on the casting wish list.

Former footballer Ben Cousins will not be part of the show this season.

SAS: Australia will once again be helmed by Ant Middleton with two new faces expected to be joining Ollie Ollerton in the Directing Staff team.

SAS: Australia has gained a reputation for helping celebrities purge difficult moments and incidents from their past and show viewers their real personality rather than the character some build as part of their public persona.
