TV legend Bert Newton is celebrating an Easter blessing with a new family member on the way.
Newton and his wife Patti are to be grandparents again with their daughter, Lauren, announcing she is expecting her sixth child.
Lauren is married to former Olympic swimmer Matt Welsh and the couple have five children, Sam, Eva, Lola, Monty and Perla.
“Another beautiful baby to love,” Patti said on social media on Saturday alongside a picture of her and Bert with Lauren as a baby.
“So lucky this baby is having No 6.
“In these sad and difficult times, wonderful to have such joy to look forward to.
“The best parents, and the most fabulous children, we miss you so much, our love, Nana and Poppy.”
Lauren announced the baby news on Instagram with a photo of her youngest daughter, Perla, holding an ultrasound scan.
“Perla is thrilled she is going to be a big sister!!!,” she wrote.
Bert and Patti told the Sunday Herald Sun last week that the thing they miss most during the COVID-19 shut down is seeing their adored grandchildren.
“We live close by and before this shut down not a day would go by without the children coming to play, us going to visit them or organising to take them on an adventure,” they said.
“We miss that precious family time and the joy being with them brings.”
