Emily in Paris star Lily Collins stepped out in New York over the weekend, attending the Calvin Klein show during New York Fashion Week.
But photos of the star’s glammed-up appearance have sparked concerns among her fanbase, with people on social media voicing worry over her tiny frame.
Collins, 36, posed for photos outside the event to show off her two-piece outfit: A spaghetti-strap top and matching skirt.
The photos went viral on X, where one post has amassed almost 30 million views and sparked fierce debate – some arguing we should refrain from speaking about celebrities’ bodies, others saying Collins looks “painfully thin.”
“I don’t have a good feeling about this,” one person commented.
“Does she eat well … is she healthy?” another asked.
Others argued perhaps Collins’ pale complexion might be eliciting the strong reaction: “I think we are so used to white stars having tans this is throwing us off,” one claimed.
Others pointed out that Collins has been honest about her past struggles with an eating disorder. The actress had opened up about her health issues in her 2017 memoir Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me, the same year she played a woman dealing with an eating disorder in the Netflix film To The Bone.
“I never reached the point where I needed medical attention and went to hospital, so I never took the time to talk about the facts,” she said in a 2017 interview.
Collins explained that her own eating disorder, which took hold when she was in her teens, “controlled how I ate and looked. Then, as I grew older, I realised that perfection doesn’t exist and my priorities have shifted because I want a family one day. I don’t want these self-imposed issues to affect whether or not I can have kids – because the reality is you can’t have children when you’re ill like that.”
Collins surprised fans in February this year when she announced that she’d welcomed her first child with husband Charlie McDowell via surrogate.
“Welcome to the centre of our world Tove Jane McDowell,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the little one sleeping.
“Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way. We love you to the moon and back again …”
TMZ reported at the time that the Emily in Paris star’s surrogate gave birth in Northern California in late January.
