‘Don’t try this at home’: Silvers Circus performers asked me to join in. Here’s what happened

A Herald Sun reporter took a trip to Swan St for a sneak peek at the Silvers Circus – but didn’t expect to be dragged into tummy-turning aerobics and crazy skits by performers.

There’s no clowning around when it comes to the entertainment, excitement and wow-factor on show in Silvers Circus.

Richmond is set for the treat of a lifetime with Silvers having set up tent at the Burnley Oval for nearly a month of adrenaline-fuelled madness and tummy-turning triumphs.

The two-hour show, dubbed “modern circus with a twist”, features a line-up of bizarre and wonderful acts that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Herald Sun reporter Grace Frost took a trip down to Swan Street for a taste of the circus life before opening night – even getting dragged into some dizzying acts by Silvers performers.

Taking to the stage during the Richmond rollout are Duo Stellare roller skating phenomena Sarita Macaggi and Mattia Sartori with their wicked spins and gravity-defying aerobics tricks as well as the spectacular Daniel Vilar who wows with his next-level juggling skills.

The cutest act by far is 10-month-old puppy Charlie the Wonder Dog — he’s the smartest pup on the block, jumping through hoops under the keen direction of performer Mohammed.

Walison Muh, recognised for his successful performance on Australia’s Got Talent, is excited to take centre stage as this season’s ringmaster.

“When I’m on stage and making people laugh, that’s my happiest time of the day,” he said.

Though known for his lighthearted skits, Walison hinted at a change to his routine, with a “dangerous challenge” bound for Silvers.

“I can’t give it away,” he said.

“Get out of your comfort zone and come and check it out.”

Silvers Circus is open now with final performances on July 21.
