A disturbing video has surfaced on social media showing controversial MAFS contestant Olivia making claims about her time on the show.

A disturbing video has surfaced on social media showing controversial Married At First Sight contestant Olivia Frazer speaking about the effect the show has had on her.

The video, posted on Facebook by reality TV gossip site The Wash, shows Olivia and several other 2022 MAFS contestants caught on the street at night as they meet up for a post-show reunion.

In the brief video, Olivia tells an unidentified interviewer behind the camera that at one stage during her time on MAFS, she was so upset she told a producer that she wanted to “throw herself off the balcony”. She claims the producer told her: “Don’t say that.”

“You said that as a joke, right?” the male interviewer can be heard asking. “That’s a very strong thing to say.”

Olivia shrugs.

“I was distraught.”

“Yeah, but I was like … seriously distraught. I was not suicidal, but I was that upset. I was distraught, and they just like … completely did everything against what the psychologists had told me,” she continues.

Commenters on The Wash’s Facebook page were divided over the video, with some expressing sympathy for Olivia while others slammed her for backtracking about such a serious issue.

“Someone needs to get that girl some help asap!” wrote one.

“She really cannot go any lower … Suicide isn’t something to joke about,” wrote another.

“Once you have lost someone to suicide, hearing people just throw it out there in conversation casually for attention but not meaning it is truly disgusting,” said another.

When contacted by news.com.au regarding the video today, a Nine spokesperson said all contestants on MAFS are given access to a psychologist during and after filming.

“Nine and Endemol Shine takes its obligations in respect to the health and wellbeing of the participants of this program extremely seriously. All participants have access to the show psychologist during filming, during broadcast and once the program has ended,” the spokesperson said.

“Nine also have an additional service for participants should they like or need further individual and confidential psychological support. This service gives participants access to clinicians who have been specifically engaged to support those involved in the program in relation to their experiences. This service is available to all participants for as long as they need it, it does not end”.

It comes as Olivia has spoken out about facing intense public backlash after being cast as this season’s villain, admitting she felt “blindsided” by producers when the show went to air.

In a recent interview with Mamamia’s No Filter podcast, she opened up about her experience on the show, and how she is coping amid arguably the most extreme backlash ever faced by a MAFS contestant.

“I’m at the point now where I’m trying to get up off the floor … I’m at rock bottom, and I’m trying to get up,” she told host Mia Freedman.

“And every time someone messages one of my loved ones something awful, I feel like I’m getting kicked back down. I’ve had death threats sent to my personal phone number … and I’ve had many on Facebook.

“It’s not just the show – if it was just the show, we could all just laugh and say, ‘Yeah that’s not Liv’s character, that’s a different story,’ but it’s the public believing it … it’s just the shock.”

Olivia also recently revealed she has been accosted by angry viewers who drove by her house screaming obscenities this week.

In another clip shared by The Wash, Olivia revealed she was forced to call police and Channel 9 security after the scary incident last Sunday night, which followed the explosive final dinner party being aired.

“Some lunatics have just pulled up outside my home, don’t know how they got my address, and have screamed that I’m a c**t, I’m a rat and I should die in a hole, so I’ve called my mum, I’ve called Jack, I’ve called the police, I’ve called Channel 9’s security team,” the 28-year-old former teaching assistant said.
