As we brace and shiver and hunker down during Melbourne’s coldest snap of the year this week, or rugged up the kids in a vain attempt to try and get them off the dreaded devices, spare a thought for our richlisters.
Yes, the midwinter school holidays means only one thing for our silver spooners and nouveau riche – European vacations!

The Geminder sisters, granddaughters of the late cardboard king patriarch Richard Pratt and daughters of Pact Group’s Raffy Geminder and Fiona nee Pratt, Georgia, Bella and Sammy, were in fine form celebrating the nuptials of Jared Cadry, the fourth generation Cadry from the rug pioneering Sydney dynasty in Rome this week.
The sisters have become a force in their own right, with recently married new mother Georgia Danos making the Forbes 20 Under 30 list for her Gem Oral Care business.
Also in the Eternal City, was radio host Lauren Phillips on a survey break from her Nova 100 FM breakfast show and enjoying La Dolce Vita with her soon-to-be-husband, aviation tycoon Paul O’Brien.
Travelling over to the shores of Sardinia - passing Lindsay Fox on the seas in his superyacht - it was all things Dolce & Gabbana for the luxury label’s extravagant Alto Moda collection with Jaimee Belle Kennedy, aka Mrs Kennedy and her watch seller husband James Kennedy, looking the part in a myriad of colourful showstoppers from the luxury – and at time controversial – high end brand.
Across several nights of parties, guests were treated to a variety of performances by leading artists including Christina Aguilera, clad in a hot pink bodysuit with matching feather boa, and Katy Perry who is to cap off festivities with Naomi Campbell, Halle Berry and Theo James in attendance.
Elsewhere, Alexander Porter - whose family owns Australia’s leading condom brand Four Seasons - said ‘I do’ with partner Chris Ledlin on the French Riviera.
Like his brother Michael Porter, who married longtime partner Billy Mitchell in an Italian wedding last year, the event, held in Château de la Napoule, a restored French castle, located in Mandelieu-la-Napoule became a three-day extravaganza attended by celebrities, business moguls and influencers.
Radio host Jackie “O” Henderson was kicking up her heels as was Melbourne stylist to the stars Elliot Garnaut, with the ceremony officiated by former Victoria’s Secret model, Bridget Malcolm. Because of course.
