‘You’ll be a massive failure in Melbourne’: Price blasts Sandilands

Steve Price has reignited a vicious war of words with Kyle Sandiland, saying the shock jock has the “intellect of a cumquat” and that nobody should listen to his “toxic” show.

Steve Price and Kyle Sandilands have renewed their war of words, with Price declaring the radio shock jock will be “a massive failure in Melbourne”.

After the Kyle and Jackie O Show launched in Melbourne on Monday with an avalanche of sex talk, innuendo and politically incorrect comments, Herald Sun columnist Price said last time he labelled Sandilands a “grubby buffoon” was a compliment.

“The last time I mentioned you on this program that was a compliment in hindsight,’’ Price said on The Project Monday night.

“That garbage you put to air this morning, sexualised rubbish, toxic, and nobody should listen to it and you will be a massive failure in Melbourne.

“That bloke, Sandilands, sent me a threatening message last time I called him a grubby buffon. Do it again Kyle, I do note that you didn’t have the guts to sit down and do an interview with me, perhaps because you’ve got the intellect of a cumquat.”

Sandilands hit back on Tuesday morning’s show, accusing Price of feigning outrage and also mocking the apparent threatening message he sent calling him a “piece of shit”.

“I wonder whether he’s just pretending to be a c--- or whether he actually is a horrible person,’’ Sandilands said.

“Let’s hear the apparent threat I made to Pricey. (It was) Hey you piece of shit, we’ve spoken before. Last time you forget you’re not allowed to mouth off about me. Can’t wait to see you face to face. It’s been too long. It’s disappointing as you get older you’ve just turned into a real pice of shit. Feel free to play this on tonight’s Project since that’s the last gig you’ll ever have. See ya, mate.”

Sandilands then read a quote from Price which he claimed backed up his thinking that it’s all fake.

Kyle Sandilands took a whack at Price over his comments.

“This is (from) March 16 — I’m very aware Kyle and I have had some interesting whacks at each other over the years but as we know it’s all part of the game.

“So I’m right it is all feigned outrage. He’s not really outraged.”

Price’s The Project co-hosts Georgie Tunny and Sarah Harris disagreed with him.

“You know what though, I think they’re going to be a success,’’ Tunny said.

“They’re already giant in New South Wales and I think people are going to follow them here. People like to be outraged. That is also a reason to listen.”

Harris added: “They get big guests, they’ve got the best contact book in Hollywood.”
