Billionaire chicken heiress Jess Ingham has said yes to marry long time boyfriend Roger Zraika after he proposed with a $40,000 diamond sparkler.
Zraika presented Ingham’s four-year-old daughter, Mimi, with a miniature ring also from Sydney jeweller Nicholas Haywood.
“Opening the door to an incredible dream come true,” Ingham wrote as she shared the happy news on social media. “Having you standing there waiting for not just me but my most precious little person! You have completed me Roger.”
Zraika proposed overlooking the harbour at Ingham’s Woolloomooloo penthouse apartment, surprising his now fiance as he got down on one knee in front of a large Marry Me sign surrounded by 1200 red Ecuadorean explorer roses and a room full of love heart balloons.
“Roger and I designed the ring together at my studio,” Haywood told Confidential.
“The stones are all very rare, perfectly matched with consistency. We hand made the ring in platinum here in the studio. They are top shelf stones, it doesn’t get better than that.”
Ingham was wearing black tracksuit pants and a T-shirt before changing into a black fringed cocktail dress for a surprise dinner with 22 family members at Bambini Trust Sydney.
Among those celebrating the news were Ingham’s mother, Sue, and best friend Roxy Jacenko with her husband Oliver and their two children, Pixie and Hunter.
“There are no words that could ever describe the happiness I am feeling and have felt since the moment @rogerzraika came into our lives!” Ingham wrote on Instagram. “You have been so unbelievably incredible to Mimi and I and have loved us and accepted every part of us. I am beyond grateful for you and for all that you have done for us! The BIGGEST surprise of my life last night!”
Ingham is the granddaughter of businessman Jack Ingham, of the chicken empire that sold for around $1 billion in 2013.
Mimi is Ingham’s daughter from her previous marriage to Alex Macris, the brother of murdered nightclub boss John Macris.
Zraika is a project manager for ULTRA building, which is responsible for prestige building developments in Sydney’s east and is currently working on a Double Bay project.
