Kate Langbroek says she hasn’t given up on the prospect of a fairytale radio reunion with her former co-host Dave Hughes.
The popular duo worked together across almost two decades, ruling the airwaves as Hughesy and Kate in breakfast and then in drive.
After she relocated to Italy she took time off radio and then returned to the 3pm Pick Up which was axed last year. Hughes is still heard on breakfast radio in Sydney.
“We’re full of love for each other and nothing is off the table for us,’’ Langbroek said.
“I love Hugh. I’m not doing radio at the moment but I will always love radio because it’s such a natural medium for me.”
Langbroek appears on Ten’s The Project and presents My Mum Your Dad. The celebrated author and mum of four attended the Logies in Sydney which she described as beautiful.
“It’s been really convivial and it’s got a beautiful vibe,’’ she said.
“I love television and watching television and I’m loving my first foray into reality TV.”
In March Langbroek moved to clarify any suggestion she had a falling out with Hughes after making comments on The Project that he was hurt by.
She said she discovered in 2016 Hughes was earning 40 per cent more her for years while they worked on Hughesy and Kate at KIIS FM.
She said “important” details were left out during the segment and that Hughes was “mortified” when he discovered his female co-host was on less, and even offered to take a pay cut.
“I really believe everyone can have their own views and I’m not much of a canceller,’’ she said.
