Newlyweds Bridgett Roccisano and Joshua Cavallaro have revealed they had to overcome deep personal heartbreak in the lead up to their lavish nuptials.
Both the millionaire Booby Tape co-founder and her structural draftsman husband suddenly lost their beloved Nonnas before walking down the aisle on Saturday.
“Josh’s was the week before and mine was a month before — it was a horrible month but we know they would have wanted us to celebrate and be happy,’’ Bridgett said.
Roccisano’s sister Bianca paid tribute to their Nonna, their biggest supporter, during her heartfelt wedding speech at the National Gallery of Victoria on Saturday night.
Earlier the couple wed at St Patrick’s Cathedral in East Melbourne.
Bridgett said it was the best day of their lives.
“It was better than I could have ever imagined,’’ she said on Sunday before a post-wedding celebration at Crown.
“It was a party. For me it was everything I could have wanted, both simple and beautiful.”
Bridgett and her bridesmaids stunned in gowns by leading Melbourne designer Con Ilio.
She changed into a second Con Ilio dress for the surprise performance from Ricki-Lee Coulter who danced out her hits plus the Whitney Houston classic I Wanna Dance with Somebody alongside the happy couple.
The stunning reception filled with white roses was styled and produced by Giannarelli International and also featured violinist Sally Cooper, DJ Andy Murphy and Shura Taft as MC.
The couple partied on with guests at city hotspot Bar Bambi.
Roccisano, who has also built a fashion empire Bianca and Bridgett with her sister, will honeymoon in Paris and Dubai after heading to Germany this weekend for the launch of Booby Tape.
