‘We can’t wait to celebrate our big day’: Tahlia Giumelli engaged to NRL star Tom Burgess

Model Tahlia Giumelli has announced her engagement to NRL star Tom Burgess.
The couple, who have been dating for three years, ended 2019 with a bang after the Rabbitohs prop, 27, popped the question ahead of New Year’s Eve.
“We are so excited to be heading into 2020 as future husband and wife and can’t wait to celebrate our big day in the future knowing our little girl will be there,” they told Confidential.
“We are already committed to each other as a family but we are really excited to commit to each other as a couple. It was a beautiful, relaxed proposal over looking the farm at sunset just the two of us to then be joined by friends to celebrate!”
The engagement comes four months after they welcomed their first child together, Sophie Heather.
Giumelli, 25, hinted that an engagement was on the cards back in October.
“I think we made the biggest commitment and that was having a child together and (getting married) is obviously going to happen along the way but we’re not in any rush. At the moment we’re just focusing our attention on Sophie at the moment,” she told Confidential.
“It’s a big wakeup call, obviously it’s such a different life that you had before but it’s a learning curve.
“Every day is a learning curve, you make it up as you go but we love having her around. It changes your life but it changes you for the better. I wouldn’t have it any other way now.”
The happy news marks a bittersweet time for the Burgess clan, following news of former NRL star Sam Burgess’ messy split from wife of three years Phoebe in October.
The couple parted ways for a second time this year but continue to co-parent their two children one-year-old Billy Mark and Poppy Alice, who turns two next month.
Phoebe has since cut ties with the entire Burgess family and no longer follows any of them, including Giumelli and her sister-in-law Joanna Burgess, on social media.
