Former Yummy Mummies star Lorinska Merrington has spoken out amid claims of a feud with Rebecca Judd.
Judd, who is the wife of former AFL star Chris Judd, was dubbed a “mean girl” on social media last week after a gift that Merrington sent out landed in a charity bin.
It all began when Judd, 38, publicly supported Merrington by posting a photo of herself wearing a blue frilled loungewear set from the model’s new clothing range Royale By Lorinska on Instagram, hours before its official launch on Wednesday.
The following day, a loungewear set resembling Judd’s surfaced at The Salvation Army in Melbourne’s Hampton, which is a neighbouring suburb of Brighton where she lives.
A photo shared by anonymous Instagram account Celeb Spellcheck showed the size 8 set on a clothing rack among other donated goods with a Salvos tag – which some followers perceived to be a snub on Judd’s part.
Merrington, who is the wife of former AFL star Andrew Merrington, told Confidential that she gifted a select group of friends including Judd clothing from her range before it was made available to the public and is “disappointed” by the situation.
“I’m extremely passionate about Royale and a lot of hard work has gone into creating my brand over the last 12 months,” Merrington said.
“As part of the launch campaign, Royale products were gifted to a group of influential women as we have always been about supporting each other and our business ventures.
“It’s disappointing to see this overshadow such a successful launch week. In the first 48 hours we have had an overwhelming customer response online, both locally and internationally, with thousands of women investing in these pieces to create special moments with their mini-me icons.”
Judd did not respond to a request for comment.
A staff member at The Salvation Army said as of Saturday, the blue loungewear set was no longer available.
“Things go very quickly here, I’m not surprised,” he said.
