“The band is back together — with three lead singers,” Colosimo said. “It’s a honour to be part of a franchise that’s been so strong for 10 years.”
The trio will star as notorious underworld figures in Channel Nine’s Underbelly Files: Chopper.
Harrington said: “It’s an effortless slide back into familiar territory. These characters fit back on like a comfortable suit.”
Byrne added: “I was over the moon when they offered me the role because I love crime.”
Colosimo laughed: “End quote. She said it, not me.”
Colosimo’s reboot of Gangitano follows a tumultuous year of legal troubles.
“It was storm in a teacup. Things got out of control,” Colosimo said.
“I had to ride with the punches. “I always felt I had clarity, but other people didn’t. Once my family and friends believed everything was OK, that’s all I cared about.”
Underbelly Files: Chopper screens on February 11 and 12
