Identifying a gap in the market, Aussie businessmen Ewan Munro Belsey and Tony Tsianakas have released a men’s makeup brand in Tony & Munro.
Launched over lunch at Paddington’s The Stables yesterday, the pair showcased the initial four products on offer to men wanting to look their best.
“We are about fusion cosmetics,” Belsey told Confidential.
“We blended skincare and cosmetics because we realised that the men who are wearing makeup and want to wear makeup, the health of their skin is really important to them as well as how they look.”
The first phase of the collection includes concealer, eye gel and BB cream with plans to expand into other more feminine makeup products like mascara.
“What we are trying to do is introduce cosmetics and makeup to the Australian male market slowly and we will see where that takes us,” Belsey explained.
“We are all about giving our customers what they want so if they tell us they want a mascara, more shades of BB cream or a lipstick, then sure we will absolutely look into it.”
Retired footballer Ljubo Milicevic and fashion designer Alice McCall were among those taking part in the lunchtime launch.
