Melbourne busker turned chart topper Tones And I will play Spotify’s Front Left event at the Forum.

Swedish pop star Tove Lo will headline the mini-festival her only Australian show, as well as Norway’s girl in red, local duo Electric Fields and Kiwi artist BENEE.

A secret international guest will be announced shortly.

Front Left takes place at the Forum on October 9. Tickets are $49.90 and go on sale 9am this Friday from Ticketmaster.

FROM BUSKING TO NO.1 ON THE ARIA CHARTS

Tones And I said being added to Spotify’s biggest global playlist, Today’s Top Hits, had changed her career overnight. Her song Dance Monkey is not only No.1 on the ARIA chart after just eight weeks, it is sitting at No.1 on the Spotify chart in Norway, No.2 in Sweden and Lithuania, No.3 in Finland, No.8 in Denmark and No.2 on the US Viral Spotify chart

“I’m getting 1.3 million streams a day,” Tones And I said.

“That’s absurd. I remember when I put my first song on Spotify and it had 7000 streams and that was crazy and I figured it was my team and my friends just playing it on repeat! And that wasn’t that long ago. But nothing’s not exciting. This is what I’ve always wanted. I always wanted to reach people with my music and now I’m here achieving those goals after working so hard, it’s not ever going to be something I’ll take for granted.”

The 20-something born Toni Watson said spending the last few weeks back in Mornington has made her homesick.

“I’m already thinking of moving back to Melbourne. Realistically now it’s not so much where do I want to live but where do I want my base to be when I’m home. And I always want to come back to Melbourne. All the people I love are in Mornington.”

Front Left will be an over 18 event. Spotify premium subscribers can buy tickets in a presale which is on sale now — frontleftlive.withspotify.com

The live showcase-format event is based on Spotify’s Front Left playlist, which boasts over 500,000 followers.

It is the first time the concert has taken place in Melbourne.
