EVERY picture tells a story.
For aspiring Melbourne singer Jack Pellow, 21, the tattoos on his body honour the brother and sister he lost to suicide.
But as he competes on Nine’s reality singing show The Voice Sunday night, the ink also signifies hope of building a new life for his daughter, Ivy, 3, and his mother Sandra.
Pellow, a single father who works in retail, told Confidential: “My brother passed away and, a year later, my sister passed away. It’s been a massive trauma in my family. Nothing has ever been the same since.
“My mother hasn’t had a kid she’s been proud of,” he added.
“People have abandoned us and it feels like our family has rotted away. But I feel like I’m bringing happiness back to our lives again.”
Pellow said it took a lot of self-reflection to go on the show.
“It took a lot of mental training to tell myself I’m good enough to do this. I had the cliches reasons, like I love music, but then it started getting beyond that. It started becoming more about my family.
“And as I got further and further into it, I started thinking: ‘Imagine the life my daughter could have, my mum could have, if I made it.
He said: “My daughter is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
