SUDANESE born Australian male model Anei Dut is doing great things on the catwalk, and the 21-year-old hopes to inspire other Sudanese born Australians that anything is possible.
Dut was discovered in Sydney while hanging out with friends at a hotel, and now finds himself signed to the prestigious model agency Chadwick Models.
He came to Australia in 2003, after spending years in Egypt with his family after they left war torn South Sudan when he was three.
In the past year the Melbourne personal training student he has walked at major fashion shows for David Jones and the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival.
“That is my dream,” he said when asked if he wants to be a role model.
“I want to basically tell them, I started at the bottom and I picked my life up and I continued on.
“You can do good things and make it work.”
He said he appreciates all the opportunity Australia has given him, after a tough life overseas.
“Basically my family wanted to get a better life for us,” he said.
“We actually just wanted to live and enjoy life, instead of always worrying.”
Dut is also a talented basketballer and footballer, and he recently was presented the best and fairest award at the South Sudanese Australian National Basketball national tournament
