Sir Elton John’s gracious response to security breach at Geelong show

The Melbourne woman who stormed Sir Elton John’s stage in Geelong says her kids want gatecrashing tips so they can do the same at a Miley Cyrus show.
The woman, a child care worker, last night posted a video on her Facebook page, showing how easy it was to climb on to the stage, then walk directly to Sir Elton — who was singing and playing piano — and grab him.
“I said to my friends and my kids, ‘I want to meet him, I don’t care,’” the woman said during an interview with Triple M Hot Breakfast today.
“I saw an opportunity, I was close, and I thought, ‘I’m doing it!’”
She added: “I saw a chair leaning against the stage ... I wriggled myself up and just started bopping.”
Sir Elton had wrapped his 1983 hit I’m Still Standing, at his winery show in Mt Duneed on Saturday night, when the woman casually crept into his spotlight.
He appeared startled when he saw her.
Two security guards tried to stop the woman, but it was too late. She was already face-to-face, and in direct contact with the rock legend.
“He just goes, ‘Ooh, hello,’” the woman said.
She told Sir Elton: “I’m so sorry, but I love you, I’ve been a big fan for years. Your music has inspired me.
“(Sir Elton) said ‘back off’ to the security people, and he gave me two big squeezy hugs ... then the bouncers put me back into the crowd.”
Asked if she expected to kicked out of the show after the security breach, the woman replied: “I was very lucky. But they could see I was harmless. I’d had a couple of vodkas.”
She said her kids thought the security breach was “hilarious,” with the youngest child asking her “to teach me how to do that for when Miley Cyrus comes (to perform in Australia.)”
After posting her video to Facebook, the woman was congratuled by friends.
“How funny. I didn’t get kicked out,” she said on social media. “I just got escorted bk (sic) into the crowd. Best cuddle ever tho (sic). I can’t stop laughing … it was so much fun. He gave me the biggest squeezy cuddle.”
Sir Elton has been unanimously praised for being gracious about the gatecrashing incident.
“I wasn’t joking when I said I was going to meet Sir Elton John,” she wrote on the caption of the video she posted to Facebook. “What a legend!”
While Sir Elton launched a c-bomb tirade after a security incident at his Perth show last week, the only c-word in action following the stage breach in Geelong last night was ‘cuddles’.
Sir Elton hugged the woman and gave her a quick peck before security escorted her off stage. The British singer-songwriter, currently on a farewell tour, then revved up the crowd and resumed his set.

In Perth last week, Sir Elton had very stern words with two security guards at his WA show.
Halfway through the show, he spotted a woman being removed from the concert by security guards and he stopped the show to demand the lady be returned to her seat.
“Hey, you two security guards with the girl … f--- off,” Sir Elton was heard saying in a video doing the rounds on social media.
“Let her up here immediately … come on, you c---s.
“Morons, both of you, morons. You don’t treat girls like that. Leave her alone, you turds!”
It’s not known why the woman was being removed from the concert.
