Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury says it still feels surreal to be expecting another baby with wife Alex.
The doting dad has just got fatherhood downpat with son Jax, 2, and will welcome a girl later this year.
“We’re really excited for number two, it sort of feels a bit surreal,’’ he said of their new addition, due late November or early December.
“You feel like you’re just getting on top of having the first one, but especially having a little girl, we’re looking forward to having a girl in the family and she’ll be a Summer baby.
“If anything I might get out of a week or two of pre-season training.”
Pendlebury recently spent time with another dad, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, at a TAG Heuer event in Sydney as a friend of the brand.
“I’d never met him before but he got up and spoke and was really down to earth,’’ Pendlebury said.
“He said he’s in limbo at the moment with no work on so he’s a stay-at-home dad. He’s not the typical dad though picking up kids from school.”
Pendlebury said it put things into perspective having his son Jax in the rooms after a game.
“It’s so good, especially this year he’s a bit older and he runs around and loves coming to the footy. All clubs do that really well. They just make it seem a lot more organic and take the serious edge off what is a pretty serious environment.
“I haven’t had Jax in the huddle yet, but he definitely loves the footy.”
