Carlton star Sam Docherty and wife Natalie have welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Myles.
The couple who became parents two years ago to daughter Ruby posted a picture of their precious newborn who was born on January 24.
It continues an off-season baby boom at the Blues with Blake Acres welcoming a son Hugo, Orazio Fantasia welcoming a daughter Sofia and Nic Newman welcoming daughter Audrey in October.
Zac Williams welcomed his second child, a son Beckham in November, and at the end of September Jack Silvagni became a father to son Charlie.
Natalie Docherty revealed to the Herald Sun she went through IVF to conceive Ruby.
Sam, who has twice battled and overcome testicular cancer in 2020 and 2021, also underwent a third knee reconstruction last year before making a miracle comeback by season’s end.
“It wasn’t the easiest journey and we weren’t sure whether to tell people but we did it when Sam went through chemotherapy,” Natalie said after Ruby’s birth.
“Everyone’s journey is different and it’s very complex but the more who talk about it the more it helps. During that time Sam was leaning on me but he’s really supported me and he’s so determined.
“I always knew he’d be a very hands on dad. He’ll come home, put his bags down and he’ll go straight into dad mode. It’s a light at the end of the tunnel as it hasn’t been easy.”
